WHY WE DON'T PAY CASH
Paying cash for a scrap vehicle has been illegal in England and Wales since 2013. If someone offers you notes on the doorstep, they're not operating legally — and you have no proof you ever sold them the car.
We pay by bank transfer, give you a receipt, and notify the DVLA that the vehicle has changed hands. That last part matters more than people expect: until the DVLA is told, the vehicle is still yours on paper, along with anything that happens to it.
